MRC therapist receives Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist certification
Methodist Rehabilitation Center occupational therapist Ashlee Ricotta of Brandon recently received her Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) certification from the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED).
The CDRS certification recognizes individuals who have significant work experience in the field of driving rehabilitation, have maintained their education in the field and have passed a written examination. There are only about 350 active Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialists currently working in the U.S. and Canada, and Ricotta is currently only one of three CDRS in the state of Mississippi. She also represents the state on ADED’s national committee.
Ricotta has served as an occupational therapist at MRC’s Outpatient Rehabilitation facility in Flowood since 2003, and has 12 years experience in driving rehabilitation. A native of Greenwood, Ricotta received her occupational therapy degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
